We offer independent living choices in 36 cottages and 24 apartments, a licensed Level III 32 room assisted living facility, and a fully certified 101 bed skilled nursing facility which provides a continuum of care for our seniors.
Since opening its doors, Fahrney Keedy has become one of the most vibrant Senior Living centers in our tri-state area. We are committed to enhancing the lives of seniors through quality, caring service. We become a stronger organization when we engage in purposeful growth that assures our future viability.
The story of our compassionate, faith-based care began in 1905 when Dr. Peter Fahrney made a gift of land and buildings for the purpose of providing seniors a dedicated place to receive quality care.

welcome to Farney keyd senior living community our long history with Church of Brethren is a testament to our faith-based compassion and care today with that enduring partnership we've strengthened and expanded our services now together we move into the future with exciting plans for growth and a common goal to enrich the lives of seniors since 1905 the Church of the Brethren of far nakida have worked hand in hand to serve our seniors the original land was gifted to the church by dr. Farney in honor of his grandfather it was originally founded as the far nakida Memorial Home for the Aged over the years we have experienced a few changes in our name and we are now far Nakia senior living community through the years our focus has been on expanding and improving our services to our seniors the technologies for providing the senior care have improved to the point where we are now able to provide the most effective care to our seniors in a rehab environment that will meet their optimum level of care in addition to our skilled rehab services we offer long term care assisted living memory care and lately we have added our new in Home Companion program called at your service to provide services to seniors in the community at the level that they need assistance in we also have beautiful homes and apartments available for our independent living residents a community like ours does not survive for 111 years without caring and compassionate staff at the core to provide the services that we offer these are very special people who share the values of understanding and kindness so deeply rooted in the Church of the Brethren and they have provided this care decade after decade moving too far Nikita was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life some people have said that Farney kitty is the is a hidden gem in this area and I really do believe it is first of all it's very economical compared to the others that are available I think that administering a place like this that is face based makes a lot of difference there's a whole different attitude as to why you're here you're not here to make they're not here to make money we don't have stockholders waiting for their dividends anything we have to stay in business so we have to make money to a certain extent but beyond that all the money that is made is plowed right back into for nakida and so it really is a wonderful place of course born in Hagerstown I like this area I'm so happy to be able to go out of my apartment see the mountains and have the open space with all the nice trees it's just a wonderful place to be my name is Angie key ball I'm a licensed practical nurse I'm also the director of quality assurance and I'm the infection Preventionist which basically means I manage infection control here at far nakita I've been at far knee Katie for 15 years the most rewarding thing about working here at foreign and katie is the sense of accomplishment we touch so many lives we have a huge history of helping generations we have residents now who come in and say my grandfather lived here I remember coming here as a child I feel excited when residents go home I've been in the business a long time and 20 years ago it was very rare for residents to go home and now in today's health care setting they come in for short term rehab and go home and that is so rewarding to see them accomplish and then to go home and flourish what I see for the future for Nikita is very bright we're working very closely with our local hospital emeritus Medical Center in conjunction to bring better health care to our residents to make sure that they have very good transitional care from the hospital to long-term care to home that is our goal for residents to go home where they're happy and healthy this is an exciting time for our senior living community as we begin to expand our programs and become an essential member of the community providing services both on campus and off integral to our mission of enriching the lives of seniors is the benevolent care that we provide each year we are on track this year to provide 1 million dollars of benevolent care to our residents who do not have the funds to care for themselves with our partners in Church of the Brethren and other business leaders the future is bright as we continue our mission to enrich the lives of seniors
