Saint John of God retirement care center was founded by the Hospitaller order of st. John of God in 1942 the order is a worldwide community of health care providers health care in various countries in Southern California the order is focused on the care of seniors st. John of God retirement and care center is situated on seven acres of land at the corner of Western Avenue and Adams Boulevard which is about six miles from downtown Los Angeles the retirement and care center opened in 1942 today it's a retirement community that offers four levels of care they consist of residential care assisted living skilled nursing and a memory loss dementia unit the brothers and the co-workers of the care center are committed to the core value of hospitality which impels them to be attentive to the whole person mind body and spirit the mission of hospitality is driven by the values of respect healing quality spirituality and responsibility by which we provide quality service of care and compassion meeting the needs of seniors of all ethnic backgrounds and faiths this gives expression and creativity as we seek to provide customer satisfaction integrity and relationships teamwork and trust offering innovative services with fiscal responsibility the heritage of our mission is to go from good to better offering the best of what we have by continually improving the health and quality of life of the people we serve
