Western Assemblies Home

The Western Assemblies Home is a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).

The Western Assemblies Home provides care to all brothers and sisters who fellowship, or have fellowshipped, in a Plymouth Brethren Chapel or Gospel Hall at some period in their life. We have a small, but close-knit group of Christians living in the Home.

The Home is located in the heart of Claremont, California. The Home consists of a Main Building that includes both single and double rooms with baths. In addition, the Home includes 11 houses on the two adjacent streets to the Home (Stanford Drive and Grinnell Drive). With these types of accommodations we provide a variety of housing, and give more flexibility to the needs of residents. We provide additional care in the Main Building for those requiring it in our infirmary wing.

Although Southern California is famous for its mild weather, all facilities are air conditioned for our guests' comfort. The Main Building is on the ground level, and most of the rooms are for single occupancy, each with private facilities. The Home has a dedicated staff to serve guests, including around-the-clock caregivers. Utilities, heat, light, electric, and water services are provided to all homes and cottages. Lawn care and maintenance are also included.

Western Assemblies Home is indeed a unique place with its homelike atmosphere. There is a lovely sunroom for the enjoyment of our residents.
The living area in the Main Building centers about the spacious living room on one side of the inviting entry and a comfortable dining room on the opposite side.

Western Assemblies Home provides a large number of essential services to our residents each and every day. These include laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance services. For those residents needing assistance with medical needs, we provide health observation and supervision by the Caregiver on duty, bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, dressing, and assistance with taking prescribed medications. We are able to dispense all medications, and we can provide transportation to doctor appointments.

All residents are invited to enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Main Building Dining Area. We serve a variety of meals, and residents find the social interactions at mealtimes friendly and pleasant.

All our guests are in assembly fellowship, including former missionaries and full-time commended workers. The Claremont Bible Chapel, where a large, active, and friendly assembly meets, is located just one block from the Home, a pleasant walk along a quiet and safe tree-lined street with level sidewalks. For those who prefer, transportation is provided.

Western Assemblies Home is, in every sense, a Retirement Community and a Home rather than an institution. The care, the love, and the companionship that you receive can only be experienced when you belong to the family of God. Through the nearby Claremont Bible Chapel, many ministry opportunities are available for willing and able residents.  There is an interactive Bible study every Friday in the Main Building as well as frequent "sings."
