In the year 1970, the Finnish community came together to decide about building what became known as the Finnish-American Rest Home. Soon thereafter, the Rest Home expanded its plans to include a skilled nursing facility that was named the American-Finnish Nursing Home.
Welcome to Finnish-American Village, home of the Finnish-American Rest Home, our Assisted Living Facility, and the American-Finnish Nursing Home, our Skilled Nursing Facility.

Thus, the Finnish-American Village is much more than just buildings that house an Assisted Living Facility and a Skilled Nursing Facility offering 24-hour oversight from licensed nursing professionals. Assisted living is available for those who wish to live actively and independently in a comfortable residential setting, with added care and assistance for daily tasks as needed. Assisted living suites are available in two sizes.
The Finnish-American Village offers assistance with activities of daily living such as dressing and grooming with 24-hour oversight from licensed professionals.

On the skilled nursing side of our Village, our dedicated staff offers 24-hour skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services with compassion and experience.
Services offered include:
- Long-term care for chronic medical conditions
- Restorative nursing and wound care
- Social worker services
- Hospice care
- Weekly visits from Medical Director and as needed
- Regular visits from attending physician
- Recreational, educational, spiritual, and wellness-focused activities
- Home-cooked meals and therapeutic diets
- Housekeeping and laundry
- Transportation
After a hospital stay or recovery from an injury or surgery, short-term rehabilitation may be needed to help your loved one return to good health as quickly as possible. Comprehensive speech, occupational, and physical therapy led by skilled professional therapists support independence and a safe return home.
