We welcomed residents to our home in 1997. Our company was established by Jerry and Priscilla Seymour. Priscilla had an invalid mother living with her and Jerry had a mother who was failing in heath. This caused them to realized the need for an assisted living, personal care and retirement home in our area of Southwest Georgia. The name "Seymour" was used to represent Mrs Lillian Seymour, Jerry's mother, as she had been such a wonderful help in Bronwood almost all of her life. "Southern Comforts" was to indicate the kind of treatment residents would receive in Seymour Southern Comforts (SSC). So SSC gives families the opportunity to have their loved ones cared for without sacrificing their work or their personal home needs.
Although small, our family-owned-and-managed business has a big heart. Our company operates like a ministry that sincerely cares for each member. Many of our aides have been working for us for more than a decade. What started as a cozy retirement home that offers first-rate accommodations, evolved into a community bonded by friendship and a genuine concern for each member's welfare. We are a member of Terrell County Chamber of Commerce and National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
