Governor's Glen Memory Care & Assisted Living

Governor's Glen Memory Care & Assisted Living is a peaceful assisted living community in Forest Park, Georgia. It is within storied Clayton County which is part of the Peach State.

We understand how important your loved one’s care is to you. No matter what they need — long-term care, short-term respite care, or daily visits in our adult day program — we provide high-quality, personal care that extends beyond access to medical treatment into a stimulating, enjoyable community.

Our assisted living is a long-term residential program for senior citizens with cognitive impairment from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease who can no longer live alone, but aren’t quite ready for a nursing home. Residents can receive long-term care while maintaining a sense of independence and dignity with our program.

Every resident has a private or semi-private style room and bathroom. Through our programs and activities, our residents benefit from community life without having to worry about daily tasks like cooking. We have secured entrances and exits to keep residents safe, as well automatic light sensors in every bathroom.

Trained to attend the needs of senior citizens with varying levels of cognitive impairment, from dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other memory disorders, our staff provides services such as medication management and personal care services. Governor’s Glen residents also have routine access to on-site physical therapy, dental care, and a range of health care physicians and specialists — all available in a safe, home-like environment.

With our active senior citizen community at Governor’s Glen, we are able to offer high-quality adult day care program services. Senior citizens who suffer from dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory disorders can stay here for any eight-hour period within a 24-hour day. Most other adult day programs only allow participants to stay during normal work hours; our program has no regulated hours.

Every adult day care participant will have their own private room with furniture provided, as well as three meals and two snacks.

Even though our program is non-residential, participants can still benefit from the vibrant community we promote through our activities and programs. Participants also benefit from the presence of our staff nurse.

We have a licensed nurse on staff and a board certified psychiatrist on call, and our residents also have access to regular podiatrist visits, in-house dentist visits, on-site physical therapy, as well as daily medication management.   

From our full-time chef who makes nutritious meals every day, to our on-site beauty parlor and barber shop, our residents feel a sense of belonging. Our activities director creates daily fun activities to engage seniors who suffer from cognitive impairment. In addition to exercise classes, we offer activities like pet therapy, music therapy, and sensory stimulation.

As the Atlanta metro area’s premier memory impairment assisted living community, we only house residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia or memory problems, making us uniquely prepared to care for your loved one’s needs.
