We provide compassionate transitional health care to Iowans at all walks of life, and we also care for the family's wellbeing. We are committed to providing compassionate, dignified and custom care for almost any need. Correctionville Specialty Care is a 39-bed skilled nursing facility offering rehabilitation services, skilled nursing care, long term care and hospice care. Our 9-unit assisted living apartment complex is next door. We are a part of Care Initiatives, Iowa’s largest not-for-profit skilled nursing and long term care provider.
Continuity of quality care by dedicated, compassionate professionals is at the core of what our guests, residents and their families can expect at Correctionville Specialty Care. From our assisted living apartment home to our skilled nursing facility, residents enjoy the spacious, comfortable homelike surroundings with the peace of mind that care providers are available 24 hours a day.
It is our goal to develop individualized care plans for every patient we see. Whether it be a resident of the community needing outpatient physical therapy, a community member needing help recovering from injury or illness with the goal of returning home, or a patient needing a bit more support, everyone has access to the same cutting edge therapeutic tools to maximize healing outcomes.
Located on the edge of town next to the local golf course and near the high school to take in Friday night football games, Correctionville Specialty Care offers some unique benefits. “I think one of the nice things about our facility is that a majority of our rooms are private,” says Administrator Tanner Mackey. “We also have a Mercy medical clinic on campus for easy access to appointments.”
In addition to our professional staff, we also benefit from a large group of dedicated volunteers who allow us the opportunity of engaging with our residents more socially. Bingo, card games, gardening during the spring and summer are staple activities. We enjoy regular outings such as dining out, going to the circus and area community events. Area school children frequent our building to give performances or participate in crafts and local entertainers visit a few times a month.
