At Sunrise of Crystal Lake, you will receive care from our highly-tenured team in a warm, cheery setting. Our community is tucked away in a residential neighborhood in McHenry County, IL, and features gardens—including our residents’ bountiful vegetable garden—walking paths, a secure Reminiscence® memory care courtyard, and a gazebo for downtime, cocktails, and conversation with friends.
Though small in size with only two stories and around 70 residents, our community is filled with a fantastic energy. You can often hear laughter throughout the building as our “Happy Hookers” Crochet Club (one of our most popular activities) meets to share stories and create blankets for the local animal shelter.
This club is just one of the many ways our residents stay active and engaged in mind, body, and spirit. We offer a busy and varied activities schedule, based upon Sunrise Live With Purpose™ programming, including outings to some of Crystal Lake’s many attractions. Our “Lunch Bunch” takes weekly lunch trips to restaurants in the area; we love going to Regal Cinemas for movie matinees; we try and see any musical, play, or concert happening nearby; and we enjoy activities with local students, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts.
At Sunrise of Crystal Lake, IL, our residents know good food. We enjoy healthy and seasonal fare, and the occasional comfort food: meatloaf and pot roast are highly requested, and ice cream is always a crowd pleaser.
We want our residents to enjoy the Sunrise dining experience , so our dining services coordinator meets once a month with our resident council to learn about new menu requests. And we make every holiday meal extra special with great entertaining and dining—Cinco de Mayo, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving…we’ve got it all covered!
