[Music] my name is Pat Sadler my name is Ken Schuyler we've known Bell trace for a good many years since the beginning my mother was one of the first residents here we realized at 86 it was time to think about it we don't know what's ahead of us and sometimes you have to go to the health center sometimes you have you need temporary service but sometimes you need a full-time help we felt that having that available readily available easily available it was very important to us and our planning I would say probably the things have surprised me are all the activities that are available here that I was on the dependent I was in the world as I said the exercise classes and there's something going on all the time no that's one of the best fights it's so much fun to go we get a weekly sheet about specials and I like just kind of study it and think about me down what do I want to have and how do I move this around you can have so many choices plus we have a break of a restaurant menu and the food's good and nobody can say they don't like the food because there's so many choices actually the menu that Patch's talked about that i think there are seventy some items on their menus of you there's something there for everybody everyone is friendly it creates because the staff is so friendly it creates a good atmosphere among the residents to you and it's it's a pleasure to go out the door and see somebody you know is gonna say hi or somebody you don't even really know we thought about where we were going to move and in looking at every place felt race was the place we felt we would be most comfortable and that we are we feel very much at home and are enjoying it very much and we're glad we made that decision I don't know that I can add any more food to what my wife has just said it was a wise decision for us to move here to Bella Terra City we enjoy her we've made new friends it's just a great place to be [Music]

my daughter came and looked at Beltre sand and when we left she said do you want to look somewhere else I said no that will be my home it was obvious that we were going to need a place like this so she asked for some recommendations got four names followed up on them listed two and this one those hands down I liked the campus and the layout and the landscaping always looked so nice and the buildings were maintained so well and we watched belt race being built we came out and talked with the office said made a down payment knowing that's that this is where we were going to go she's just thrilled with it someone asked her while back what she thought of it if she liked it here and she says from day one there's a lot going on here at belt race it's busier than I thought old age would be I just never believed that my mother-in-law would be into ballroom dancing on Thursday afternoons oh just depends on you know who you are and what your orientation is whether what you participate in there is some people who participate in everything some participate only in playing bridge once a week or twice a week you develop a real social life here we would have no desire to move him where else would we no I don't think so so which just a pleasant place in which to spend this part of our life yes and she enjoys the restaurant and totally and all my friends who come here and I have lots of them and I bring them over for lunch every once in a while and they always say I want to move in here she really feels socially integrated here she's very social person anyway but even if you weren't a social person people are so aware of newcomers they are kind to them they reach out to them deciding that you want to make the move from your former location and come here and do it on your own is so satisfying we wanted to do this when we when we were still physically able to do it I felt that if I didn't do it I was being unfair to my family the strongest advice that I can give someone who is facing either the idea of moving themselves or moving a parent do it sooner rather than later when you really have to make peace with the idea that this is going to be a positive experience it's going to be good phrase you want to do it you get get that and then then the choice of secondary our children are so pleased where we are they think that we are just in heaven it took so much off of them they were just all ecstatic when we got here Beltre's is is a very comfortable and lovely place to live surrounded by a lot of nice people with a wonderful staff they've got a wonderful staff they really ain't no above and beyond the call of duty it's just love that flows through from all the employees to people who residents who live there not only helpful they care and I think that makes all the difference in the world they're really just committed human beings to the people that they care for if you want a independent living you could have that or you can have our assisted living which I have and I appreciate it very much my husband went through this bad time and the health and living center I can't leave them out because he was I was where I could see him every day and who he was being taken care of and I went every day and sometimes a two times a day they're trained and they're a loving loving staff I appreciate our service to go to the take us to the doctor and take a shopping and I don't worry about not being able to go to events at the University or wherever because they provide this we love the college if the design is just just uh just meets our needs said she loves her apartment she every day practically she says I just this I feel like this is my home we have the greatest apartment in the place it's 103 it's the first one inside the entrance on the first floor so not only is it convenient for coming in it's very convenient for the dining room and for the elevators and everything else I love to go in my room every time I model but when I opened my door I feel like oh I've come home and I've done what I pleased with it which is fill it full of plants of course this view we have is just it's like 90 degrees it doesn't sing it doesn't appear to be an apartment unless you walk out into the hall and our apartment is readily accessible to the core activities of the the community I knew it was going to be home and I really came because I knew I'd love it and knowing that I don't ever have to move again well it's almost a family setting we can go in our rooms and shut the doors and be all by ourselves if we want to but we also can reach out and find people life is very adequate I I feel like I'm so fortunate to be here I wouldn't trade it for anything never never have looked back and never have had any regrets this is home
