We are committed to love and care compassionately for all who make Carmel Manor their home. Carmel Manor is in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Our facility includes a new 3-story addition, peaceful courtyard garden and a large patio overlooking the Ohio River.
Our partnership with the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm has allowed Carmel Manor to provide the highest quality staff and services. We strive to uphold our long tradition of caring for the physical, spiritual, and intellectual needs of the whole person.
Our Nursing Care wing is for residents who need long term care — specifically, skilled nursing care that includes assistance with most daily activities, such as bathing, getting dressed, eating, or getting in and out of bed. These residents may also need physical, occupational, or speech therapies. We work closely with residents and their families to create a personalized care plan, so that you can have the peace of mind that your loved one is getting the best care possible.
As more and more seniors are staying active longer and planning to stay active for years to come, Carmel Manor is now offering a short-term rehabilitation specialty to enhance our residents’ quality of life. With a full team of physical therapists (PTs), Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Speech Therapists, we will work to renew our residents’ energy, strength and abilities. In addition, with both private and double rooms at Carmel Manor, it is a perfect atmosphere to our guests to recover and rejuvenate in peace.
Our Personal Care residents aren’t able to live on their own anymore, but they don’t need comprehensive nursing care. By living in the Personal Care unit, these residents benefit from the security of 24-hour nursing care, three nutritious meals a day, supervision of medications, planned activities and socialization with other residents.
Personal Care residents:
- Must be able to get out of bed unassisted.
- Need to be able to care for their bathroom needs daily (we do assist all residents with bathing or stand by assist as needed).
- Are supervised with daily medication and their vitals are checked as needed.
- Can choose from a private river view room, a regular private room, or a semi-private room; there are also a few suites available.
- Enjoy taking part in the myriad of activities (crafts, entertainment, pet therapy, book club, trivia, bingo, beauty salon, picnics, seasonal celebrations, worship services).
- Are invited to go on frequent bus outings (such as shopping or ice cream).
- Will have a seamless transition into our skilled unit should the need arise.
Our community is known for providing exceptional care. Our professional and dedicated staff provides occupational, physical and speech therapy on a daily full-time basis. Treatment programs are designed to meet the physical and emotional goals necessary for residents to reach their optimum levels of functioning. A warm welcome and creative approach in treatment is the core of the motivating spirit that is generated within the Rehabilitation Department.
Restoring a greater level of independence is our primary goal at Carmel Manor. We measure success by helping our guests and residents lead fuller, more active lives.
Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies are tailored to meet individual needs. Our team designs specific programs and incorporates the most appropriate clinical interventions including exercise, treatment modalities, and therapeutic activities related to daily living.
