Edenton Retirement Community

Edenton Retirement Community is a pleasing assisted living community in Frederick, Maryland. It is within enticing Frederick County which is part of the Old Line State.

Our community offers 72 attractive ground floor cottages that can be modified for accessibility and safety. Each cottage has its own front porch and lawn area. Cottages come equipped with kitchen appliances and hookups for stackable washers & dryers.  Edenton has five different floor plans to choose from, and you may decorate your cottage to suit your taste using your own furniture and personal belongings.

Edenton Retirement Community maintains an RSA license that enables our staff to assist our cottage residents with a variety of home care needs allowing them to safely remain in their independent living setting.

Residents may individualize their porches and patios with planters of flowers.

Pets are welcome to be a part of the life of our independent living residents! A special fee and contract is required.

Independent Living residents at Edenton participate in a daily “Buddy Check” system. This security measure helps to ensure that each resident is well each and every day.

Residents place a “Buddy Check” sign in their windows after waking and remove it in the evening. Staff and security monitor the Buddy Check system twice daily.

Edenton offers two Assisted Livings, Orchard Terrace and Fiddler’s Green, that provide assistance to those who are having difficulty managing the “Activities of Daily Living” but who do not need to be in a nursing home. 

Often times families are concerned that Mom or Dad may not be eating well or taking their medications correctly.  Families may notice that a loved one may not be participating in life the way that they used to or have become depressed or withdrawn.  Concerns about a loved one’s safety at home begin to prompt family members to try to figure out what to do for Mom or Dad.

Edenton’s Memory Care features two group homes for adults with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other memory related conditions. The Garden House and Blossom Place are Home to 15 residents each. 

Our goal is to help residents live as independently as possible in a healthy, reassuring environment. Both facilities offer the comfort and solace of a homelike atmosphere with the safety features and support services to meet the unique needs of those with dementia. These wheelchair accessible facilities are electronically secured by an alarm system and are staffed 24 hours a day.

All residents have their own private, furnished bedrooms. Blossom Place residents have their own bathroom while residents at The Garden House shares a bathroom with a neighbor. In both residences, everyone shares the common areas, dining rooms, activity rooms, living rooms, lounges and secured outdoor courtyards. Our staff provides a routine that gives residents a feeling of familiarity, continuity and above all, community; fostering a peaceful, pleasant atmosphere that helps them live life to the fullest.
