Sunset Home for the Elderly is a private assisted living establishment operated by a team of healthcare professionals with more than 50 years of experience. Our goal is to provide an affordable, safe, quality environment for the seniors in our community.
Sunset home for the Elderly is licensed to provide up to three levels of care. By offering three levels of care, we make it possible for residents to age in place without the worry of constant transfers and relocation. Level One means we are authorized to take care of residents with low care needs. Level Two means that we can take care of residents with moderate care needs, and Level Three allows us to care for residents with high-level care needs as well as residents with low or moderate needs. The three Levels of Care makes it possible for residents to age in place without the worry of constant transfers and relocations.
Sunset Home provides each resident a tastefully furnished room, or if they prefer they can furnish themselves.
We offer a full range of services, from housekeeping to fresh home-made meals, that help our residents remain safely independent. Rooms are designed to provide privacy, but with easy access to activities and companionship. We also have a 24-hour emergency response system to provide assistance and security.
Services include elegant living areas, a full complement of hospitality services including three homemade meals per day, snacks, weekly housekeeping and laundry service, scheduled local transportation, maintenance of building and grounds, wellness programs, social activities, and assistance with personal care, such as dressing, bathing, eating, and managing medications 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
We provide and/or arrange opportunities that will promote the physical and mental health of each resident, to include facilitating access to spiritual and religious worship services, social activities such as games, bingo, exercise classes, trips to the mall, and access to our beautiful garden.
Sunset Home for the Elderly emphasizes independence and choice. Rules and procedures have been designed to emphasize independence and choice.
The following safety measures are in place to protect residents’ personal property, and to protect residents from wandering. The facility is fully equipped with a sprinkler system, exit doors with alarm devices; all residents’ areas are carpeted; a floor plan is displayed in each resident’s room and common areas; fire drills are scheduled every 6 months; and an emergency plan is publicly displayed.
Sunset Home enforces a zero tolerance policy for abuse and neglect. Abuse is the physical, sexual, mental, or verbal ill-treatment of a resident or the use of physical or chemical restraints or involuntary seclusion. Abuse, neglect and exploitation are PROHIBITED in the facility.
