There’s something different about senior living at Sunrise of Cascade in Grand Rapids, MI . You’ll notice, for example, that our Arts and Crafts–style community was designed as a single-level building, and it’s more than just an architectural choice. It means there are no stairs or elevators for our residents to navigate, and it’s easier for them to move throughout the community and take advantage of everything we have to offer. Our common areas feature beautiful touches like two-sided fieldstone fireplaces, leaded glass windows and a comfortable and cozy environment.
At this Sunrise Senior Living community in Grand Rapids, MI, our assisted living residents also enjoy amenities like our large country kitchens, living rooms with fireplaces and large TV’s, manicured landscaping and gardens, walking paths and a gazebo. For extra relaxation and personal care, we offer a full-service beauty salon and barber shop, as well as a Bathtique and hydro tub that allow for safe, yet independent, bathing. And when our residents and their loved ones have something to celebrate—or just want to enjoy a meal together—we offer private dining areas that encourage the entire family to experience the joy of every day.
At Sunrise of Cascade, MI, the house favorite is our hot chicken salad elegantly wrapped in puff pastry. Another hit is our special house herb rub that can be used on several meat selections. To avoid excess salt, our dining team uses fresh herbs and spices in many of our dishes such as this one. To obtain feedback, we have a large food committee comprised of residents that meets frequently. At every meeting, a new technique or item of food is introduced, creating much excitement for our residents. We also often incorporate family recipes into the menu.
We love to celebrate special occasions at our community. One of the most popular among residents is Octoberfest when we serve sauerbraten and other traditional German meals. On Thanksgiving, we host a large brunch and our Christmas celebrations call for a traditional ham and roast prime rib to be served!
