The Jackson Friendly Home is a licensed home for the aged for ladies 55 years and older. Jackson Friendly Home provides a high quality lifestyle for ladies who are unable to completely care for themselves.
Established in 1878 in a small home on Oak Hill, the original “Home of the Friendless“ opened its arms to widows and children of Civil War era veterans. The current building and grounds were established in 1908 and is an historic icon.

Our residents truly do enjoy all of the peace and comfort of home with the added benefits and safety of 24-hour staffing. It is a goal of the Board and Staff of Jackson Friendly Home to provide for the total needs of the residents and assistance with medications to physical, social, and spiritual activities.
Located on each floor these spacious rooms allow the ladies to socialize with fellow residents, to read peacefully, and to lounge in a relaxing setting.
Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms as much as possible with their cherished belongings. All rooms are fully furnished.
Three delicious meals per day are served in our dining room where residents enjoy each other's company.
Residents quickly fill the appointment book for weekly shampoo, cut or styling in our on-premises beauty shop. A visiting stylist provides these services at a minimal charge.
The Jackson Friendly Home is full of life, as residents are encouraged to live each day to the fullest. There are plenty of activities in-house, and close proximity to major city bus routes allows easy access to residents' favorite community activities. There's simply no shortage of activities for resident participation. Bingo, Movie Day, Special Entertainment, Bible Study, Crafts, and monthly lunch outings. Volunteers assist in activities which help ensure a high quality of life.
