The Dockerty family has dedicated their lives to taking care of other people. After many years of working for others, in 1997 their passion led them to opening their first community. Beacon Pointe is now their 4th community and the first dedicated solely to Memory Care.
Memory Care is NOT just a “locked unit“ and “enclosed outdoor area“ Memory Care is a safe, secure community where people can move about freely. Memory Care takes care of more than just the physical well being. It stimulates the brain and nurtures the emotions. We connect with our residents through compassion, smiling faces and caring hands.
While a lot of thought, time, and research went into giving Beacon Pointe the latest in technology and building amenities, it is not the building that makes Beacon Pointe “home“. It is the years of experience the Dockertys have invested; the example they lead by. It is the heart we put in what we do. Love doesn't just live here, it works here too.
Beacon Pointe, A Memory Care Community, is the Dockerty’s fourth campus and first campus to focus solely on memory care. The Dockerty’s philosophy has always been their mission statement, To Treat Everyone the Way We Would Like to be Treated! This idea is not only directed to the residents they serve but also the families, friends, visitors AND the employees and their families. The Dockerty family believes being a reflection of Love in all that they do and to all who they encounter each day, will create the environment necessary for those they serve to thrive.
Beacon Pointe, A Memory Care Community is dedicated to providing quality, caring service to the senior population. Our emphasis will always be on providing resident-centered service in the form of assistance with activities of daily living, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and social events. Each employee of the community will serve in such a way as to promote the independence and abilities of each person.
An emphasis is placed on wellness and maximizing strengths of each person. Programs are planned relating to healthy aging, exercise and other areas that will promote the health and well-being of our residents. Since the community is focused on wellness, smoking will not be permitted in the residence or on its grounds for residents, visitors, or staff.
Because Beacon Pointe is a secured building, consideration will be given to residents who are a fit with other residents either cognitively or because of physical limitations require additional assistance. Residents needing 24 hour supervision by a licensed nurse should seek the facilities of a skilled nursing home. However, 24 hour nursing consultation will always be provided at Woodland Terrace.
