the things I look for because when I first walked through the doors here at thorncrest before i was even employed here I felt it was very a home a very home-like atmosphere and one of the things I thought of was when we're coming into this place we are guests in their homes their residence and I look for in employees people who have that philosophy or that believe the staff here is I have been so impressed I don't know where they can find all of the nice people that they do because everybody here is just absolutely marvelous I have been so impressed thorncrest is located in beautiful Albert Lea Minnesota close to shopping dining entertainment with neighborhood access to one of the nation's finest medical providers the Mayo health care system well I think being in the middle of the city we have access to just about everywhere that we would like to go in fact we have our church is just across the street so we can walk across the street to church we like the independent living here and we like the location it's close to the center of town close to churches close to shopping areas and it has worked and has been a good move for my husband and myself if you are an active independent you can fill your days at porn with fun activities travel volunteering or simply savoring the rewards of retirement no more chores to worry about we don't have to worry about though mowing lawns and shoveling snow and maintaining a home even if we need a light bulb it take that care of that force yes there's so many things to do here and yellow we're close who happened to be close to the elevator and the stairs and we have a deck that's out over the office where we have you no space for flowers a table with chairs and an umbrella it's all here everything is here so and if you need a little encouragement to something like that there's always something to put somebody to put her arm around you and you know and some of that is but you can also rest assured knowing that when the time comes that you need a little help thorncrest professional caring staff is there to serve you the staff are very very caring and professional tools and what we notice is that quite often they anticipate our needs before we are even aware that i need is existing at thorncrest we offer the widest range of services possible that include independent living assisted living assisted living plot skilled and rehabilitative care memory care and home health assistance we like the 3-step option you know as having your own apartment and if you needed assistance it was available and the department anymore the health care was right the same building I like that we're independent in our apartment and then there's the assisted living unit and then there's the care center and so if something happens to one of us and our our health is not as good as we like we have the other areas of care right here under all under one roof and the nursing care down there I go down there to visit my wife in the nursing care wing and they the people are just fantastic so and we come down to so you have a little doctor's appointment or something like that they get transportation they buzz you right up and and they picked you up again things like that are great fit independent living it thorncrest means just that you can enjoy convenience is designed to make your life comfortable and enjoyable budge add a wellness program barbershop a beauty salon ingram transportation and a number of banking and post office services thorncrest independent living apartments feature complete kitchens and three-bedroom options with walk-in closets and many other amenities you will just love when it's time for additional help with your daily routine Thorin Chris assisted living services coupled with our skilled caring staff is right there to make your transition just perfect our continuum of care is is evident when we look at people coming in in the apartments or in our board and carrier assisted living areas we are also looking at them as as possibly moving into another area of the facility someday and we want to make sure that that transition for them will be smooth with some assisted living community the choices can be confusing at thorncrest we can arrange our services and support to meet your unique needs and choices such as a full dining program and what reserves to medication assistant bathing and housekeeping I think the other unique feature of our facilities that were small and that makes for a little more homey type of atmosphere as well everything gets to know each other better our skilled care services are state-of-the-art whether you need 24-hour nursing care or rehabilitative therapy following surgery our dedicated specialized care staff is there to help I've been through surgery four times in the last 11 years and they're there you know if I need them I've been able to stay in my apartment and just get a little extra help and that's good we know moving to thorncrest is an
