Independent living with services and assisted living rental apartments are available on the Bigfork Valley campus. A complete range of home care services is available to assisted living tenants, including health monitoring, medication assistance, homemaking, personal care services and 24 hour tenant-activated urgent care response.
Our staff is trained and educated on working with elders with dementia. We provide annual dementia care training to direct care staff that explains Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, assisting with activities of daily living, problem solving with challenging behaviors and communication skills.
In addition, all Bigfork Valley medical services are under one roof. There is no need to walk outside in inclement weather to visit a doctor, specialist or pick up a prescription at the pharmacy. Our surgery center offers orthopaedic and general surgeries close to home, including full joint replacements. A 24/7 onsite fitness center offer enhanced exercise opportunities on a membership basis. Group fitness classes are also available.
Located along the scenic Big Fork River, 30 one and two-bedroom apartments have a full kitchen, bath, dinette area and living room. A shared commons area offers dining services, a wide screen television and a fireplace seating area with a library, meeting area and pool table available. Rooms are cable-ready, and regular television is available as part of the rental. Two laundry rooms, postal boxes, a public computer, two trash collection/recycling rooms and a beauty shop are in the same building. There are two rental hotel-style rooms available for overflow. The Villa also has a dock on the river.
The Villa building has after-hours controlled access with a telephone access system. There is 24-hour onsite staffing, each of whom has passed a background check.
Continental breakfast, dinner and supper are served in the dining room overlooking the river as part of optional meal packages.
Musical and other programs are scheduled in the commons area frequently, and Villa tenants are invited to other activities scheduled on campus.
Fitness classes designed for elders are offered in the Villa and in an on-campus fitness gym. There is also a full Fitness Center onsite, including equipment, showers and lockers, that is available by membership.
Raised flower boxes are outside southern-facing apartments, and garden areas are available for planting by residents. There is a dock on the river that is available to tenants.
Bigfork Valley has an accessible bus and van which provide transportation to the local downtown area for a suggested donation. Arrowhead Transit provides services to Grand Rapids and back weekly.
Pets are welcome in accordance with the Villa pet policy.
Free parking is available for all tenants. There is a limited number of winter plug-ins and garages available for rental on a first-come, first-serve basis.
