the living environment that we've created it just doesn't happen by chance we have everything here that we need they know how to do it when you come onto this campus what you're experiencing is real once this becomes their home once we become their family once they once they become acquainted with their new neighbors then their lives are enriched their lives are enhanced you can do as much as you want to or nothing you still have a personal autonomy the but if you need assistance and help you get it I think the last thing we want to give ins is this to be a place where there they just had to come because they're getting older this needs to be a home this community comes from all over the country I think that diversity really makes us unique better also were more reflective of the community at large most of the people that work here have been here for a long time and that's kind of what's led to such a tight-knit group between the residents and the employees it's not a place that feels like it wants to know what we hear our folks in 5 10 15 years later they are so pleased they made the gene and they had a wonderful quality of life finally we're living in our community and so many of them will say they wish they had made the move earlier

years ago people chose communities because of the nursing care today they choose it because of quality of life at a place like Gibbons you can leave the stress somewhere else because you have to find something to worry about Givens the States has a true culture about them that draws employees and residents alike because when I started working here seven years ago and I visited the campus I sensed it right away I am aging but I don't think I'm that's happening at this rate that it would have happened if I had not come here coming out of the hospital home Social Services was right here I mean I didn't have to go here there and everywhere to get help her get his care they came here to get his blood they came here to do physical therapy because I'm so stress free I think I feel happier and healthier and more secure than I did before I came here but we really look at it in a more holistic way in terms of not only what residents physicals needs might be but in creating an environment in which they can be fulfilled I believe their diminish don't believe they give up anything when they come in their community they gain when you come here you still have that those wonderful hands of wonderful residency but they also have the rest of everything else that goes along with it we make this is not the place not that people who operate the place we make the decisions and I think that's crucial to any this kind of the community

when I was diagnosed with parting disease then the vision made a lot more sense it made like my sister reservation with this kind of place but I thought oh boy you know they're building and they got these homes up on the top of the mountain with a great view and this area and healthcare and everything so I just thought being an ideal place to live lenten had some surgery on top of his head and I was like I've got to get the movers situated and he needed to get the stitches checked so Debbie again said I'll take let me get his stitches checked you go handle the moving and I thought oh boy this is great it's a willow and I was well-conceived and we'll operated organization the caring here from resident to resident and staff to resident is amazing Linton's and a writing group and now he's writing stories all the time I mean and people are loving his stories we have people live here who live here who could on the whole place tomorrow and we have people who live here who couldn't live here without the support of everybody else if it were exclusively the folks who could afford it and be a very different kind of place and nothing that is interesting not nearly as supported and not nearly as much fun to live here I feel just as comfortable aging gear as I would have who is still in our place in Georgia or anywhere else you
