Alcoeur Gardens at Toms River
Toms River, NJ - Assisted Living, Memory Care
Community size: Medium (11-25)
Our Toms River, NJ Alzheimer’s Residential Community is located only 1.2 miles from the Garden State Parkway at 1126 Lakewood Road in Ocean County. The 19-bedroom community is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The house features a beautiful front porch and like the professionally-landscaped exterior, the interior is tastefully decorated while also safe and secure. Residents are allowed to wander but will never get lost with the unique layout and secure entries and exits. Smooth wooden floors prevent tripping and elegantly designed hand rails help patients negotiate their way around.. The home is sure to be mistaken for a bed and breakfast destination.
Our low number of residents per community means a higher caregiver to resident ratio and means your family member is given individual care and attention. Because we specialize in caring for residents with memory loss concerns, we don’t segregate your family member from the rest of the residents, or put our residents in a “Lock Down” facility, or special unit. There are no hidden rooms or locked off areas. Our home-like atmosphere was designed to be clean, safe, secure, and beautiful for EVERY resident — both indoors and out!
Choosing the best elder care is a family decision. And when it’s time for help, Alcoeur Gardens is a place where you or your loved one is treated like family. We pride ourselves on providing a home away from home in a secure, safe, clean, and beautiful environment.

What people say about Alcoeur Gardens at Toms River
My mother is a resident at Alcoeur. I can’t say enough about the kindness and compassion of the staff. It’s a good feeling knowing that my mother is being very well taken care of. It’s a small facility, so the staff knows each resident and they really provide for each resident’s individual needs.
As a hospice care coordinator, I find working with Alcoeur Gardens to be a wonderful experience. Alzheimer's is a heartbreaking disease, especially for the families, who have to make a decision to move their loved one to an assisted living. Alcoeur Gardens is just like home. The staff and management are so very kind, patient and compassionate.
My father is in Alcoeur Gardens at Toms River. It has a very homey atmosphere. They seem to assess each individual resident's needs. We haven't been allowed in because of COVID, so I can't comment on his room, but everybody we have dealt with has been very pleasant. The whole thing is a memory care unit. We have had such limited access, so I am not sure what activities there are conducted. I've seen it from the outside. It looks like a house, and it's pleasant. It doesn't look like an institution. The place is landscaped, and they have a front porch and a back deck. The staff is more in touch with my mother than with me, but she has made positive comments. It's expensive, but it's right in line with all the other ones.
I was looking for an assisted living facility for my friend, and I visited Alcoeur Gardens at Toms River. I favored the facility among others because of the size. It was small and private. Also, the way the staff treated the residents. They were affectionate and courteous. They maintained a good relationship with the residents. The residents were treated as individuals rather than as patients. The facility was organized and well-monitored by the staff. The food was rather excellent. They have a planned menu and was changed frequently. The place is highly recommended to others.
