Willow Wood is an 8 bed residential living home on a quiet cul de sac in a newer neighborhood. It is in Albuquerque conveniently located between Eubank and Juan Tabo with easy access from I-40. This assisted living house features a mix of private and semi-private rooms. It is one of the few residential assisted living homes in New Mexico that was built for that purpose. Willow Wood meets the additional requirements by the State of NM for memory care facilities. The resident to staff ratio exceeds the state requirements.
Carefirst Assisted Living provides a warm, nurturing environment to take care of your loved ones in a residential home setting. Based in Albuquerque, NM, our Vista Sandia and Willow Wood locations are established homes known for quality of care.
Our caring staff is what makes our homes so special. Highly trained Caregivers at Carefirst cater to varying levels of assisted living and memory care. Our staffing levels far exceed the ratio required by the state of New Mexico. Residents receive personalized care and attention from specially trained staff members, including dementia care best practices. Ongoing continuing education is an important part of our staff development.
Positive relationships are critical to well-being. Through simple ways such as asking questions, really listening to what someone has to say, or offering a genuine smile and caring touch of the hand, we are able to connect with our residents. We provide support for activities of daily living (ADL) and provide programs and activities. Families are always welcome.
Each resident has an Individual Service Plan established by regular reviews by a Registered Nurse. The input of the family is very important to help determine the appropriate care. Each resident’s assisted living service plan is monitored daily and might include help with personal hygiene and grooming, dressing and clothes selection, showering and bathing, assistance with eating, continence management, mobility, socialization and medication management.
All meals are cooked on site. Menus are designed by professional dieticians and adjustments can be made for individual preferences. All groceries are purchased fresh each week.
The responsibilities of caring for a loved one can feel overwhelming, especially if you are dealing with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Carefirst can provide a nurturing and supportive environment for your family member. You can feel comfortable that the health, safety and well-being of your family member is as important to us as it is to you.
Assisted living is an eldercare alternative for people for whom independent living is not appropriate but who do not need the 24-hour medical care provided by a nursing home and prefer a residential environment.
