Long Island Living Center is an active assisted living community in Far Rockaway, New York. It is within elegant Queens County which is part of the Empire State.

The Long Island Living Center features a magnificent lobby, beautifully furnished and comfortable lounges, and public areas that are both attractive and inviting. Here, our guests gather to chat with visitors and friends. We take great pride in our caring, talented, and professional staff. The Long Island Living Center Assisted Living Program (ALP) offers personalized attentive care to our elderly residents, giving them a homelike atmosphere. Our home is designed to help meet the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents in a safe community environment.

Our Assisted Living Program also includes Nursing Care, 24 hour Certified Home Health aides, Personal Care aides, and Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy.

We have a staff of carefully chosen professionals who are friendly, courteous, and attentive to your needs. Doctors are available right on the premises, and the on-site nurses are available on a daily basis to provide for any special needs you may have.

• The Assisted Living Program is licensed and approved by the Department of Health and billed through Medicaid.
• ​We accept payment from SSA, SSI, and Medicaid in full, with no financial burden to the family.
• ​​Our hours of admission are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. All financial information, resident responsibilities, and general information can be discussed at this time.

Persons eligible for the Assisted Living Program include those people who are medically eligible for placement in a nursing facility, but can be appropriately cared for in an Assisted Living Program. Such individuals could include people for whom a home environment is not suitable in which to live and receive home care services safely.

The Long Island Living Center ALP provides a wide range of services to all residents and their families. It is our intention to enhance the social and emotional well-being of each of our residents. Life at The Long Island Living Center is enhanced by a host of fun-filled daily activities; all planned and supervised by a trained professional staff.

Read a good book from our own library, read the daily newspaper, or simply enjoy your own thoughts. There are meeting rooms for lectures, discussion groups, movies and other entertainment.

You may enjoy painting, bingo, arts and crafts, sewing classes, knitting and crocheting and many other interesting activities, all designed to make your life here a rich and rewarding experience. Take part in our geriatric exercises designed to improve muscle tone and general well-being.

We have a beautiful dining room with windows overlooking spacious lawns and gardens. Here, courteous waiters and waitresses serve you three delicious kosher meals daily; nutritious meals prepared by master chefs.

There is a diversified menu to choose from, and salt-free and sugar-free diets are available. All meals are prepared under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian. Our dining room staff excels in personal attention and is sensitive to everyone’s needs.

We have our very own synagogue with services held daily. The Long Island Living Center maintains a full schedule of services. Please refer to our monthly schedule posted in the main lobby; days of religious observances are noted.

Our residents participate in engaging lectures, exciting concerts, and educational programs and games. Special events such as birthday parties can be easily accommodated for. Monthly schedules of events are posted in our main lobby, and daily schedules are announced during the day as they occur.
