St. Columban’s on the Lake Retirement Home in Silver Creek, New York is a not-for-profit, non-denominational home for elderly men and women administered by the Columban Sisters whose experience and dedication are well known in the health, education, and social work fields.
In 1970, St. Columban’s welcomed its first residents to the beautiful English Tudor and Gothic-style building set on parklike grounds on the shores of Lake Erie. Since then, St. Columban’s has provided a home away from home for hundreds of residents, as well as peace of mind for family and friends. By creating a home-like environment where the physical and spiritual needs of residents are safeguarded, St. Columban’s preserves the spirit of independence and personal dignity in a place where residents can enjoy life.
St. Columban’s on the Lake Retirement Home is located on 50 spacious acres overlooking the Lake Erie shore. Rolling landscaped lawns, a variety of gardens, wooded areas, walking paths, benches, and gazebos offer a park-like setting for residents’ enjoyment.
Built in the 1920s, the landmark English Tudor and Gothic-style building features original woodwork, windows, and other unique features of the period while offering all the modern amenities.
Supported by a dedicated staff and extensive volunteer organization, the Columban Sisters’ ministry of care at St. Columban’s on the Lake Retirement Home offers a high-quality, residential elderly care program where security, independence, and affordability make retirement living the way it should be.
