we've been living here five years now and it's been a fantastic journey we've been able to do so many things that we could have never done if we weren't here so it's been a blessing we called it a blessing we were called here to bring out a smile one moment of joy is all we ask Concordia is a life care community that was built for seniors to have an active lifestyle we provide services to all of our residents in many different facets from independent living to assisted living to memory support to skilled nursing our mission statement says that were founded on Christian values and that's lived out each and every day here at our community people are very friendly and I was impressed with the apartments the size of them I have a patio which I thoroughly enjoy the concept of our community that makes us unique is that we're a LifeCare campus when people move into our independent living area they know that when and if the time comes that they need more care that they'll have it here on our campus the all under one roof really appealed to us it was just a perfect situation for us I'm independent and my husband is in nursing and the wonderful thing about this is that I can leave my apartment and walk over to see him I don't have to depend on my family I don't have to depend on anyone taking me people are extremely friendly there's always something going on it was very easy because once they hear their name it's easy - the conversation started from this a bunch of people have ever seen when we first came here a year and a half ago we were welcomed and became part of the family shortly a resident moving into our community instantly has access to friends they instantly have access to activities if you want to stay busy there's games games games and a lot of programs and they take you places exercises we have parties we have open houses we have cards in other words we are very busy here at Concordia health wise and fun wise as a nonprofit community it's important to us that we reach out to the greater community the Wellness on Wheels program has been a godsend we send some of our nursing staff out to provide wellness clinics it makes you feel good to help other people it's good to see them smile they know your name they feel comfortable with you and that's really what Nursing is all about so the staff has been really done everything they can they bend over backwards they they try to help my parents felt like they've got personal relationships with a lot of staff I love my residents I love each and every one of them like they're my own grandparents the staff has been just excellent they've worked with us anything that you need they try to provide your job is like family and we have a good family here when I saw the type of care he was getting here and the attention that he got just really took a load off we work really hard to make sure that our residents stay is independent as long as possible so we have a big emphasis on wellness physical wellness spiritual wellness and emotional wellness as I think that's helped me more than anything like two years ago is in a wheelchair and and now I'm not it's got to be say something for the program they have here and the longer I've stayed the better again keeps you young we have great nutrition we have great meals and I think it just really prolongs people's lifespan it really does it's just a joy to be here with other fun people and loving in time people first they're friends and then the next day they're family and that's truly how I feel like it I love it we're all family here at Concordia you you
