Much like the city in which it is situated, Pheasant Run provides a high-quality of life in a beautiful environment for residents living with dementia. Pheasant Run is a part of JEA Senior Living; a family-oriented company with a rich heritage and deep commitment to serving people living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. JEA’s founder, Jerry Erwin, has a personal commitment to serving people living with dementia. His own mother’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease inspired the development of our unique memory care communities.
People living with memory loss face greater challenges than most of us. Being unable to remember life’s most cherished moments is a difficult path, but not a hopeless one. JEA Senior Living recognizes that these individuals haven’t lost the capacity to experience joy and are able to continue leading meaningful lives.
That’s the basis for our Meaningful Moments program. This unique approach to caring for those with dementia goes beyond merely making these individuals safe and comfortable. It’s a family-centered concept that starts by learning everything there is to know about our residents – their passions, achievements, careers, family, hobbies and interests. This allows our staff to create moments of real meaning that engage our residents emotionally, physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.
It also helps bond caregivers to the resident, so they are able to see more than their current condition and recognize them for the singular and exceptional person they are. By creating this profound connection, Meaningful Moments establishes a strong foundation of trust and well-being from which residents are able to create new memories and thrive in an environment of exceptional care.
