Sunshine Health is a locally owned Spokane Valley healthcare facility with a multi-service approach to rehabilitation therapy and senior living. Services include short and long-term rehabilitation and therapy, skilled nursing, mental health treatment, senior care, memory care, adult family homes, and Medicare-certified home health care. Our goal is to promote wellness, independence, and dignity in all the patients and residents we serve in Spokane, Liberty L`ake, and other neighboring communities.

Sunshine Health Facilities provides fully-licensed nursing care, therapeutic rehabilitation services, senior care, Alzheimer's disease and dementia care, treatment for mental illness, and Medicare-certified home health. We are equipped to meet specific needs for our residents and patients, either on our Spokane Valley campus or in homes throughout Spokane County, including Liberty Lake and other neighboring communities.

Sunshine Health & Rehab offers skilled nursing, which consists of long-term medical care/treatment that can be done only by trained and licensed staff. Skilled nursing includes complex wound care, IVs, tube feedings, certain rehabilitation treatments, specific care following accidents, serious illness, cardiac and stroke care. Skilled nursing care helps you feel confident your parents and loved ones receive the help they need, be it short or long-term care, skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy. We work with patients to return them to as normal a life as possible. 

When healthcare and rehabilitation therapy cannot be administered in the home, Sunshine Health & Rehab is the right choice for your mom or dad recovering from surgery such as knee replacement, illness, accidents, orthopedic injuries,  cardiac events, or strokes. 

Rehabilitation Services, also known as Rehabilitation Therapy, is designed to increase independence, prevent further loss of function, or maintain or improve an individual’s quality of life.

Memory care is a complicated condition with many names including Alzheimer's disease and dementia, but no matter what it is called, the diagnosis is life-changing. A decline in a person's mental ability affects their safety and daily living. It requires financial planning, legal planning, and finding care as the individual's abilities diminish.

Dementia is a general term for a reduction in mental ability to the point that it interferes with a person's daily life. Troubling behavior such as wandering, forgetfulness, agitation, paranoia, sleeplessness, repetitive speech, incontinence, and other challenges occur as the disease progresses. 

Alzheimer's disease is a very specific form of dementia. More than 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease (named after German doctor Alois Alzheimer). They project that number to increase to 14 million by 2050 (source: alz.org). The Alzheimer's Association estimates that between 60-80% of dementia diagnosis are related to Alzheimer's disease.

Sunshine Home Health believes that healing and well-being are best achieved when a patient's familiar home lifestyle is maintained during treatment. At-home rehabilitation therapy is extremely beneficial because people are surrounded by family, friends, neighbors, and even pets; allowing their minds and bodies to focus on healing. Parents can get the help they need without it weighing on their children's minds.

While in the comfort of the patient's home; our nurses, therapists, and home health aides provide mom or dad with the specialized in-home health care and treatment they need. Some of the services that we provide are: fall prevention; mobility and balance skills; diabetes management; wound care; medication management; IV infusion and tube feedings; cognitive and memory strategies; speech therapy and swallowing exercises; nutrition and diet education; community service connections; medical social work services.

We understand there may come a time when it becomes difficult to live independently in one’s own home. Some folks find they require more care than is provided in an assisted living situation, but not enough care that would require a skilled nursing facility. It is a heavy burden to find the right place for mom or dad. This is where Sunshine Adult Family Homes is the perfect solution.

Each resident has an individually established care plan. Homes are staffed by certified nursing caregivers 24/7 and an on-site facility director is available to assist and respond as needed. Nursing delegation is available in all of our homes.

Daily living and care needs are handled personally by our staff. Medication management is provided by our staff. For residents’ prescription needs, our contracted pharmacy provides delivery services at no additional cost, so there is no need for the family to pick up medications. We provide specialty and medical services from our sister agency, Sunshine Home Health.
