As you consider care for your loved one with Alzheimer s disease or other type of dementia, Brookdale Brookfield Capitol Dr. offers a safe environment and exceptional memory care. At our community, located in the quiet community of Brookfield, Wis., part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area, we believe no matter where an individual is on life s journey, each has the right to continue living in a dignified manner and enjoying meaningful experiences every day.
Memory care services in a safe, comfortable, home-like environment are the unique contribution we can make to your loved one s well-being and quality of life. And for you, there s peace of mind knowing we have trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Our memory care program is focused on creating feelings of belonging and purpose for your loved one, while seeking to preserve their sense of self. More simply, we meet them where they are. With gentle guidance, we help them flourish in activities such as gardening, kitchen work and other projects that provide the opportunity to use meaningful life skills and talents.
Because Brookdale Brookfield Capitol Dr. specializes in memory care, we purposely included such features as soothing wall colors and easy-to-navigate floor plans into our single-level community so residents feel safe and not overwhelmed. Our home-like common areas, such as the fireside living room and inviting dining room, encourage socialization, comfort and relaxation. With monitored entries and exits and an enclosed patio, your loved one will remain safe while having complete freedom of movement.
When our residents need privacy, their apartment offers a quiet retreat. You can choose the apartment that best suits your loved one s needs from two floor plans, one of which is a companion suite. Filled with natural light from large windows, our apartments are a place for your loved one to be surrounded by the comfort of his or her own familiar furnishings, family photos and cherished keepsakes. We understand that pets are part of the family, so if you have a furry, four-legged, family member, bring him along. We ll welcome him into the Brookdale family!
Walk through our community, and you ll see our residents singing karaoke, tossing a beanbag around, dancing, baking, reminiscing about the old days, listening to music, playing cards, getting creative with arts & crafts, pampering themselves with manicures, playing memory games or gathering for a movie. We have frequent ice cream socials and mix-and-mingles. Outings might be picnics or scenic drives. These activities are fun, and our residents enjoy them, but they re part of a carefully designed care program to help our residents live their best life.
Three flavorful nutritious home-style meals and snacks are served daily in our dining area to keep up calorie counts. People living with dementia face a greater risk of poor nutrition and weight loss, so we use mealtime as an opportunity to offer healthy menu choices and encourage our seniors to eat their freshly prepared meals as independently as possible. We also keep mealtimes very routine to help alleviate any confusion or added stress. All residents sit together at the same time and same table each day.
Our proprietary memory care, called the Clare Bridge Alzheimer's and Dementia Program, focuses on sustaining feelings of belonging, purpose and safety while seeking to preserve a sense of self. The Clare Bridge Daily Path provides residents with a structured routine of activities that help maintain their abilities and encourage the use of their current skills so they can hang onto them as long as possible. The Daily Path includes programs such as discussion groups as a mental workout and daily physical exercise, such as dancing. Along with such careful care is the peace of mind for our residents and their families of knowing that we have trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
