Does Pennsylvania Medicaid pay for assisted living?

Pennsylvania's Medicaid does not cover assisted living services. However, the Department of Aging (PDA) Waiver covers a wide range of home care and support services which allow an individual who might otherwise require nursing home care to remain living at home. Services include personal care, personal emergency response systems, home delivered meals, respite care, and home / vehicle modifications.

The places with the least expensive assisted living are Pittsburgh, Scranton-Wilkes-Barre, East Stroudsburg, Gettysburg, Williamsport, and Reading.
