Community Size

Following the NCAL size guidelines, we now list community size in the following categories:

• Extra Large (100+)
• Large (26-100)
• Medium (11-25)
• Small (1-10)

We define size to be, the number of assisted living beds, or the number of nursing beds, or if a community has both assisted and nursing, the maximum of the two.  Communities with independent living generally have many more individuals in excess of this size measurement, as independent living does not require much oversight or care.  We ask CCRCs to report the size of their assisted living wing.  Please contact the community for the most accurate and detailed size information.
