Brentwood Retirement Community

Brentwood is a specialty care assisted living facility that has been in operation since 1995. We are licensed by the Alabama Department of Public Health to care for residents with major cognitive impairment (Dementia).  In a regular assisted living facility, residents with Dementia (Alzheimer’s and other related conditions) are ineligible for continued stay or admission. Brentwood responds to this level of care need by providing a safe and secure environment for those who require care beyond a regular assisted living.  Here at Brentwood, we have a licensed Nurse 24/7 directing care for each of our residents to ensure each resident’s individual needs are met.

Brentwood is a specialty care assisted living facility. We are licensed by the Alabama Department of Public Health to care for residents with cognitive impairment. Residents with cognitive impairment are ineligible for admission to or continued stay in a regular assisted living facility. Brentwood responds to the need for a level of care for those with Alzheimer's Disease or other Dementia related disorders. Brentwood provides for the safety and security of those whose cognitive impairment requires care beyond a regular assisted living.

Here at Brentwood, we have a licensed Nurse 24/7 directing care for each of our residents.  Our facilities consists of two 16 bed buildings. We consider this a strength in that we are small and homelike. All residents rooms are spacious and private, with private baths. We have a vibrant activities program in place to ensure that our residents continue to be motivated and active. We serve three meals daily that are specifically made to cater to our residents' appetite. In addition, we have a scheduled snack and hydration program in place.

In order to achieve the best possible healthcare for our residents, we provide exemplary clinical support including: on-site psychiatric evaluations, close collaboration with local medical physicians, and a well-trained staff with licensed nurses on-site at all times.

Though providing excellent healthcare services is of utmost importance to us, we also understand that overall well being of our residents encompasses much more than that. It is also about enlivening and enriching their daily experiences. Here at Brentwood, we have created an activities program to engage our residents with the purpose of doing just that. Examples of some of these activities include our varied therapeutic programs such as: arts and crafts, pet therapy, music therapy, and recreational games.
