Tangelo Grove Senior Care Home is an angelic assisted living community in Phoenix, Arizona. It is within picturesque Maricopa County which is part of the Grand Canyon State.
From our private rooms with individual patios that lead onto our extensive, wheelchair-accessible grounds laced with walking paths, to raised flower and vegetable beds and our salt-water swimming pool, Tangelo Grove was designed and remodeled to support autonomy while providing the greatest possible safety and security to our residents in an elegant setting.
Each room is equipped with a state-of-the-art bathroom designed both to please the senses and to be accessible to wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
Our pet policy is very generous; we will always consider accepting our residents' well-behaved, housebroken pets.
Common areas, sprinkled throughout our spacious 7000sq. ft. home, are designed to provide residents and their families with large and small space for gatherings.
Tangelo Grove is licensed by the Arizona State Department of Health Services to provide all three levels of assisted living facility care. Those levels of care are:
1. Supervisory
Staff provides general supervision and stand-by assistance in bathing, dressing and taking medication, and provides intervention if necessary.
2. Personal
Staff provides hands-on assistance with bathing, transfer, dressing, medication administration, eating, and many other activity of daily living.
3. Directed
Staff provides any of the above mentioned services to residents who are incapable of recognizing danger, summoning assistance, or making essential care decisions.
Tangelo Grove wants to ensure that our residents can live out their lives with dignity within our home; we are licensed at all of the above levels to ensure that it will not be necessary for our residents to leave us as they require more intensive care. We nurture our staff so that the people that surround our residents are with them throughout their stay here, and become trusted members of their support network.
Tangelo Grove prides itself on the tight-knit community we have nurtured here. This commitment to community extends to our caring and professional staff, many of whom have worked with us since our inception. Our caregivers are licensed and have current fingerprint clearance cards. They maintain First Aid and CPR certifications, participate in a minimum of 12 hours a year of ongoing training on topics that relate to the specific needs of our residents, and they are very much invested in our residents' well-being and committed to supporting self-determination and autonomy within each resident's abilities.
Caregivers are skilled at respectfully providing assistance with all of the activities of daily living - dressing, feeding, bathing, toileting, transfer, and mobility. Trained by physical therapists to properly transfer residents and support maximum mobility, staff members develop close, deeply respectful relationships with our residents built on a foundation of both listening closely and providing for residents' safety.
Each room at Tangelo Grove contains several means of communication so that residents can always reach a staff member, and regular room checks ensure that residents are never left without support.
Based on the senior food guide pyramid, our nutritional program changes to meet the nutritional requirements of our residents. Equally important, our kitchen staff understands how emotional our relationship to food can be; one of the most distressing aspects of moving to a care facility for many seniors is the fear that their diet will change for the worse.
Meals are shared as a community, and family members are always welcome to share meals with our residents. We are happy to make picnic lunches for residents with special dietary needs who go on outings or medical appointments during meal times, and are always available to serve up a midnight snack.
Our full calendar of activities is the result of a dynamic collaboration between the residents and their families, community members, and staff to provide enrichment programs best suited to our residents. Ceramics, painting, and Tai Chi classes are offered weekly, with sing-alongs and guest performers organized on a regular basis.
