Therapeutic Residential Home

Therapeutic Residential Home is a charming assisted living community in Concord, California. It is within radiant Contra Costa County which is part of the Golden State.

We offer residential (24/7 care) facilities as well as a day treatment program (all week, 9am - 5pm care).  The clients we serve are primarily the elderly with or without memory care needs, individuals managing mental health disorders, and regional center clients.  Most importantly, we specialize in those "difficult" clients who may have been misunderstood by other programs.  This would included any sort of behaviors (sexual, physical, emotional etc), which may have been rejected by other programs. Ultimately, we enjoy working with the "tough" client and know that everyone has their own way of living in this world, and with patience and understanding can help create an atmosphere where they can thrive.  We find ways to modify or work with those troublesome behaviors and provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgemental environment that allows for their growth.

In addition, Our site is overseen by a clinical psychologist who provides 2-hours of one-on-one therapy for each client.  We individualize our care and work to avoid standardization.  All individuals are unique; therefore standardization, though cheaper, we believe is working against the best interests of each client's needs.  With the support of a trained psychologist each client is provided with the opportunity to discover personal coping skills to manage their specific obstacle and build a meaningful life.  

We are also here, primarily to serve the best needs of each and every client, but we do NOT neglect the needs of each client's support system; their care is just as important as the needs of the client.  This means are services extend to family, caregivers and friends.  Specifically, we offer groups for the support system as well as family/caregiver/friend sessions with the client.   

Lastly, our care does not stop at the individuals and caregiver.  We believe strongly that individuals and their support system are constantly being positively and negatively affected by the communities in which they live.  Therefore, we strive constantly to work with all relative parties (i.e., political activity, communication with city, county, state and federal leaders, open dialogues with other caregiver organizations etc.).  We work with all important parties to create policies that are understanding, supportive, nonjudgemental, and most importantly do NOT punish differences nor attempt to fit an individual into a standardized box.

The Therapeutic Residential Services (TRS) Inc. has been providing residential care services; Independent, Assisted Living and Respite Care to seniors with or without dementia or adults wtih mental and developmental disabilitites thru our therapeutic residential care facilities in Contra Costa, Fresno, Sacramento and Tulare Counties. We work wtih each individual based on their needs or level of care they require along with their family members and other agencies involved in the care of those individuals. All the research has shown that when people with dementia and chronic illnesses are provided with best support systems then they can live a meaningful life. We offer loving and compassionate services through our dedicated and experienced staff, fostering adequate recovery, growth, and creating a meaning in life.
