definitely one of my favorite things number one would be the people of people that we've met here and the people who are employed here we are truly one big happy family believe it or not no question about it and we were very surprised because we lived here in davis for four years and we'd heard about this facility but we truly hadn't experienced the familial living we have here and the people come from all parts of the united states and some from foreign countries and it's just terrific and also just the wonderful people that we've met here as you age your acquaintances diminish often for health reasons and other things but here you add to your circle of friends with people from all over who are very interesting and friendly and I think that's another plus the people here whether it's the residents or the staff everyone is just wonderful very supportive very friendly very helpful we did have concern when we came here because we knew that a lot of the police original residence in still true today are from either Davis or the surrounding areas and our concern was that since we're from way you know Southern California that that there'd be kind of a cliquish sort of thing of people in you know the Davis sites would would all congregate together because so many and they had been at the university together or something like that but that just absolutely did not prove to be the case I mean when when people come here that it you know it I mean it's up to you to assimilate but but it isn't because people aren't willing to extend your not open open are very friendly yet yeah we've met so many wonderful people really really interesting and in mice people we have formed very fast friendships with some we travel together sometimes and we do a lot of things together we just enjoy the people here very

when I come into the ER cat dining room I'm always impressed with the nice variety that we have it's beautifully presented we have wonderful servers who are very attentive to our needs and take care of everything it's a wonderful experience it's deluxe dining out every day that's usually the first question people ask us when they say when we say we live at a retirement community house of food and we respond the choices are wonderful we have enjoyed eating meals here in fact my husband a bit too much because he's been on a little weight and but with the new wellness facility he's working and working it off the choices are wonderful I mean you always have you know the entrees the soups the salads desserts and so we love it we like the food here because of the variety and the fact that it's healthy and also that we don't have to cook it all the time it's kind of like cooking at home you know you have the ordinary things that you have every day or every week and then it's it's special duck for the weekend and we'll have meat carved both friday and saturday evenings and we have a lovely lovely brunch on sunday they offer a variety of foods with it we've entertained frequently by inviting people to come in for the sunday brunch that's the favorite meal for our family particularly two of our sons who like lots of choice and lots of quantity we have a deli downstairs for snacks or meals that you don't care to make for yourself but it's to me it's like a cruise ship on land we enjoy the the food and the dining room daily meals for a social time of the day and the various activities the parties that they have there was recently a bistro dinner that was lots of fun eight courses there they happen occasionally there's an upcoming winemaker's dinner we always enjoy that a five course dinner and matching wines that's lots of fun there's there other social events such as a New Year's Eve party and a labor day trip to go to the baseball game that those kinds of things related to food which I just love

and then the activities you can be as busy as you want to be there's almost every kind of a card game there's the golf there's the bocce ball I like the activities that are available hmm I'm I really like to stay fit and healthy if I can so I enjoy the athletic opportunities here but there's so many things going on each week that you have difficulty quite deciding what to do it's almost like signing up on a cruise ship you know where you have to look at the day's activities to see which are the ones you want to do i found what i needed here activity we have over 40 activities of any type and if it isn't here you can start it there's a great deal of the spontaneous activity just as there are a lot of spontaneous committees activity groups interest groups book clubs which neither of us happen to be in that sort of thing though it just pops up all the time if somebody wants to found it and can find anybody else who's interested they're off and running if you come here and you know that you want to be able to participate in something so if you join a committee if you join an exercise group if you play tennis or play golf or paint or draw or bocce ball swimming classes if you put out the effort to join or to give or to do it comes back you know tenfold I think just about all the athletic activities we are involved in we're involving golf and tennis and Jim plays low budget ball I don't do that and occasionally I swim that mostly we're we're into the Gulf and the tennis activities i would say and we do ride our bikes at least once or twice a week we live in an area where there are lots of paths leading throughout the park area and just walking around is a nice way to spend to we all said yeah well i think the Wellness opportunities here are outstanding I think that they're just or so many different ways that people can work at being well in their later years and we need our bodies begin to have become more creaky and we need that so there there are a lot of different classes a lot of different activities and I right here we don't have to drive across town or go to other health clubs so I think that's a big advantage I really do
