Sakura Gardens

Sakura Gardens is a first-class assisted living community in San Mateo, California. It is within storied San Mateo County which is part of the Golden State.

Sakura Gardens, in San Mateo, provides 24-hour personal care and supervision for both ambulatory and non- ambulatory seniors. We offer room and board in a home surrounding providing a setting that is safe, comfortable, and enjoyable in which to live. Every room comes with its own private full bathroom. Each shower is conducive to the non-ambulatory resident. Sakura Gardens is staffed with bilingual (English/ Japanese), well-trained, experienced care givers who enjoy working and assisting the elderly.

• Physician
  • If your loved one doesn't have a personal physician and/or dentist, we can assist him/her in obtaining one. In case of an emergency, and the resident's personal physician is NOT available, our emergency first aid procedures will be followed.
• Personal
  • Personalized and individual attention to each resident's specific needs and desires.
  • Daily observation of your loved one's general emotional and physical health. Notification to family and physician if there is significant change in either.
  • Assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and other personal needs as needed.
  • Monitoring of all medications in accordance with physician's instructions.
  • Bedside care for minor, temporary illness
• Dietetic
  • Three nutritious meals plus snacks are prepared the the Japanese style by a qualified dietitian. Special diets are carefully prepared as prescribed by your loved one's physician.
• Activity
  • We have a full time activity director on staff. Activities consist of indoor games, exercises, music, crafts, current events discussions, outings etc. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the scheduled activities. Japanese and American magazines and newspapers are provided as well as television with 24 hour Japanese and American broadcasting.
• Housekeeping
  • We offer daily housekeeping services and provide fresh linens on either an as needed basis or weekly. Emergency housekeeping services are available 24 hours a day. Personal laundry service is provided at no extra charge.
• Transportation
  • We assist in making transportation arrangements for all our residents. Local transportation is provided for doctor's appointments in our facility vehicle.
• Hair Grooming
  • We provide beautician/barber services through contracted specialists. Residents may use these services at their own expense. We do, however, provide daily grooming services at no extra charge.
• Furniture & Furnishings
  • Sakura Gardens provides all furniture and furnishings, linens, towels, soap, etc. Those who wish to have their own furniture may do so after consulting with the Administrator.
• Optional
  • Podiatry care and physical/occupational therapy through contracted, qualified professionals.
  • Special care services (medical) through professionals or agencies, as ordered by a physician.
  • Residents who wish to have an optional service that is not listed may consult with the Administrator.
