Bretano House is an Assisted Living Board and Care Home located in beautiful Marin County in the San Francisco bay area. Our fundamental commitment is to provide the best care possible to our residents in a family home environment. Best is defined as above-standard yet affordable services, openness and reliability of our team, and a convenient, comfortable and safe home for the elderly. We believe our family-style homes are similar to the home people come from, and are the perfect alternative to the unfamiliar environment of large institutional facilities.
Our homes include a variety of areas, both indoors and in the garden; some are designed for privacy and quiet relaxation and others for socializing with family, friends and other residents. We work hard to make your stay with us a satisfying, friendly and enjoyable experience. We provide access to the best medical care in the area. and our staff members receive frequent additional training in our effort to maintain the highest standard of care. We feel that innovation and constant enhancement of our employees' knowledge in caring for the elderly strengthens residents' trust in our services.
Bretano House has been an authoritative leader in assisted living for the elderly since 1996. In all these years we have learned and refined the best procedures for developing and managing a residential care home. The concern and respect for an individual’s needs, desires and cultural beliefs continue to shape the very foundation of our services. For us, the physical, emotional and psycholgical concerns of our residents must be satisfied to promote in them a sense of well-being.
The facility is a compound of three (3) separate 6-bedroom homes adjoined by lawns, gardens and patios and bordered by a white picket fence. It is a secure “neighborhood” within a neighborhood on a quiet, pedestrian-friendly street.
Each of the homes has private and semi-private rooms for six residents. Every room is equipped with phone jack, television cable and bedside emergency call button. All rooms are comfortably furnished though residents are welcome to utilize their own furnishings. Each home has its own certified administrator and well trained staff, two caregivers 24 hours a day. This high ratio of staff to resident is our assurance that all needs are attended to thoroughly and without delay.
Our team members are carefully screened to make sure that our residents have the best people around them. They are well prepared to handle any emergency that may arise.
All homes are handicap-accessible, ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents welcome.. All homes and gardens are regularly and professionally maintained. The gracious lawns, gardens and patios provide excellent places for strolling, flower-picking, reading and relaxing or visiting with neighboring residents.
The staff participates in an on-going training program in safety measures, medication management, activity supervision and techniques in working with various stages of dementia. They are especially understanding, compassionate and skilled at making Bretano House residents feel safe, loved and at home.
