Dina's Place

Dina and I have operated Dina's Place for ten years. I grew up with my grandmother and have always enjoyed older folks. Dina has the gift of a caregiver, and has instinctively known what people need. We also have a great resource of experience with Dina's mother, Joyce, who worked as a caregiver for the elderly for 25 years.

Dina and I provide a home-like atmosphere for your loved one. We have spent a lot of thought on how to make the folks we serve feel at home. We have decorated the house with furniture and other items that come from the 40's and 50's because this was their period. It seems to give them a level of comfort and familiarity and feels good and right, even though they may not know why.

We have found over the years that when these folks get their water, medications, and three balanced meals a day (on time), they are able to live at their best. They can think better, move better, and just enjoy life a whole lot more. When they are clean and well dressed, it is also more fun for you to come and spend time with them, and/or take them out.

Dina's Place is a full service care home for the elderly. Here are some of the services that we regularly provide to our residence:

• Single Room
• Double Room
• Meals
• Three nutritious meals daily plus snacks between meals
• Special diets when prescibed by a doctor
• Hygiene items of general use like soap and toilet paper
• Washing and drying of personal clothing as well as fresh bed and bath linens bi-weekly or more often if needed
• Cleaning of residence rooms
• Comfortable bed and bedroom furniture
• Plan and arrange medical and dental appointments
• Planned activities, including available community resources
• Continuous care and supervision, plus observation for changes in physical, mental, emotional, and social functioning.
• Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, continence, transfering from bed to chair, and other personal needs
• Assistance with taking prescribed and over-the-counter medications in accordance with physician's instructions.
• Bedside care and tray service for minor, temporary illness or recovery from surgery.
