Tuscan Manor is a lovely large single-level home in the city of Santa Rosa, in a central well-estabished residential neighborhood close to hospitals, shops & restaurants. Our home has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, plus a separate staff cottage behind the main house, and several fruit trees and flowering plants.
Tuscan Senior Homes bridges the gap between living independently and living in a traditional nursing home environment. We have been providing excellent care to elders with dementia and other conditions associated with aging since 2005 in Santa Rosa, California, the center of the Sonoma wine country.
Many seniors transitioning from living independently into long-term care are faced with choosing between a skilled nursing facility, a large assisted living facility, or a residential care home such as ours. Tuscan Senior Homes has several advantages over traditional skilled nursing facilities and large assisted living facilities because we provide a cozy, home-like environment that is peaceful, quiet, smaller and thus easier to navigate and less overwhelming to seniors, especially those with memory-loss.
Moreover, we have fewer residents (only 6 in each home) which allows for more interaction and personalized attention from our staff, as well as more consistency in staffing (low staff turn-over) resulting in less confusion to elderly people, especially those with dementia. Our trained caregivers have been with us for numerous years and have decades of caregiving experience, including dementia-care, and many are CNAs (certified nursing assistants) and/or certified Administrators of elder care facilities.
Due to our small home-like environment, our residents get to know each other better and create meaningful friendships not only with our caregivers, but also with each other because they eat meals together and participate in activities together. Moreover, our relaxed, unstructured environment is akin to living in one's own home and our seniors can awake, eat and do activities unrushed and at their own pace. Our care plans are individually catered to each resident and accommodates the needs and preferences of each. In essence, our home becomes their home for life and each resident is treated as part of the Tuscan family.
