Balfour’s Assisted Living program is designed to respond to the individual needs of residents who may need help with some activities of daily living, yet are eager to remain as independent as possible.

Our residents are individuals first and foremost, and their health, happiness, and peace of mind are our main priority. That is why we believe in having registered nurses on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We’re pleased to offer a medically skilled assisted living program. Our care is progressive according to the needs of each individual. Levels of care and specific, individualized services are determined by a clinical assessment prior to move-in.

We offer levels of assistance in our assisted living program. We enhance services according to the needs and/or desires of each resident and their family member(s).

Nothing takes a higher priority at Balfour than treating every resident with the deference, dignity, and attention he or she deserves. We emphasize strengths, abilities and keeping things positive.

It begins by recruiting and retaining an experienced staff. Intensive training for all staff along with monthly in-service programs creates an environment of learning and interest. Our care partners are trained in validation approaches, encouraging interaction with residents in the most effective and caring way possible.

Equally important is maintaining strong communication between our care partners and the families of our residents. Our regular care meetings and educational and family council gatherings create a collaborative caring environment for residents and families.

We offer programming that helps stimulate long-term memories and increase enjoyment of the moment, including pet therapy, massage, and aromatherapy. Reminiscing and sensory activities draw on our residents’ strengths, allowing them to reflect and talk about themselves. Our care partners meet our residents where they are – in their world and in their time.

We know from experience that social interaction is essential to good health, so we have daily Life Enrichment programming that includes unique opportunities. No matter what your needs are, we are able to assist each resident to participate in a variety of activities. From intimate group gatherings to shopping excursions to scenic country drives, our programs have been thoughtfully designed to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Our Life Enrichment programming includes educational classes, art lessons, community service projects, gardening, exercising or socializing on our outdoor terraces.
