Welcome to our home! We're the Best family. I'm Vanessa Best and my mother Linda Best is our Registered Nurse. My Grandmother Naomi and I bought this beautiful house together so I would have the ability to provide her with the constant care she deserved. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and given 3-6 months to live...she actually lived a full 3 years after that diagnosis. My mother and I believe love and attentive care can go a very long way.
Now we're looking to help you or your loved one! Come receive the individualized care you've been looking for, in a true home setting that other facilities simply cannot provide.
Our home has five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and is all one main level making it the perfect layout. You can choose one of three private rooms or a shared master suite (which would also be perfect for a couple). Bedrooms can be furnished or unfurnished based on personal preference. This is a 3000+ sq ft home on a quarter acre with a large backyard and huge lanai. There is a three-car garage and plenty of storage space if needed. Residents should be okay with dogs, we do have one 14 lb chihuahua-dachshund mix. Pets will be considered on an individual basis.
We provide assistance with all activities of daily living including but not limited to:
- Dressing
- Bathing
- Hair
- Meals
- Walking
- Outings
- Shopping
- Laundry
- Cleaning
- Transportation
- Medication Management
We have the unique ability to have a nurse constantly available. Many facilities outsource and you never have the chance to establish that one-on-one relationship. Whether she is already here, or within a phone-calls reach, Linda Best is our personal Registered Nurse. Having spent about 20 years of her career at a large tertiary care hospital in New York, Linda has a wide range of experience including critical care, cardiac unit management, teaching, and most recently home infusion. With 28 years total experience in multiple settings she is an invaluable asset to our home.
We provide three home-cooked meals per day and snacks. Well-balanced nutritious food and drinks are always available. Special accommodations will of course be made for any dietary needs or restrictions. We encourage participation! We look for input in weekly menu planning and allow supervised cooking.
Having fun is a key part of being healthy! Activities done on a daily basis can include board games, puzzles, coloring, craft projects, scrap-booking, card games, gardening, easy exercises, neighborhood walks, and more. We also plan outings. We can go to your favorite restaurant for lunch, take a trip to the beach, check out the farmer's market, see a show at the Van Wezel...or just tell us what you'd like to do!
At Best Care Home LLC we strive to provide peace of mind and comfort to our residents and their families. With our new Central Monitoring Unit from Smart Caregiver we are adding another layer of safety to ensure any needs will be met immediately. We provide wireless call buttons for each resident, who may choose to wear it or keep it in their room, as well as an additional one in every bathroom. The unit also has many different options for accessories, allowing us to tailor monitoring to each individual's needs.
