Title: Why I Chose The Island
Time: 1 min 20 sec
Description:
Shell Point Residents discuss why they chose to live in The Island neighborhood.
Transcript:
I chose The Island at Shell Point, to live there, because I'm a swimmer, and they have three pools here. And I'm just a water person, so I love the Garden apartments and my view. I chose The Island because you could get to everything just by walking. You could go to the Activity Center, you could go to the pool, you could go to the gymnasium, the health club and work out. And I just like walking out my front door and seeing the dolphins and the manatees. There's a community spirit that I find on The Island that is wonderful. Part of it is just being able to walk by and see people that are in the courtyard, they're at the mailboxes. If I have my window open, they walk by and say, "What's cooking in there?" And there's just a wonderful feeling when you're walking around The Island. You run into neighbors, you run into friends, maybe you start walking with them. You see them working in the garden. And the interaction with people on a daily basis that's very very convenient is good. Especially for someone like me that's alone, because I'm a widow. And so knowing that I can just walk out of my apartment and I'm bound to run into somebody with whom I can have a conversation or a meal -- it's wonderful.
