More than 40 percent of assisted care residents in the United States have Alzheimer’s disease or some other form of dementia or memory loss. That number is only going to continue to rise. The Alzheimer’s Association expects it to be tripled by the year 2050.
Memory care isn’t a one-size-fits-all scenario. Its advancement is different in every, single person it impacts. For some in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia, they may retain a high level of independence. For others with more advanced cases, they may need assistance with daily activities.
Memory loss doesn’t impact just the person suffering from it. Families and loved ones are affected, as well. BeeHive Homes is here to help ease that burden. As part of our commitment to exceptional senior care, we’re the assisted living facility to trust with accommodations for those affected by memory loss and diseases like Alzheimer’s.
We’ve discovered over the past 27 years that a family’s concerns for their loved one typically fall into two categories: physical safety and the resident’s security in terms of personal belongings and confidentiality. With BeeHive Homes, you can have peace of mind knowing our professional staff take pride in the level of care they provide and foster a true love for our residents. Our smaller, home-like feel also allows for a sense of familiarity for residents – so they can feel safe and secure.
Communication is key in assisted living. Residents and families, alike, can expect informative, empathetic and confidential communication from BeeHive Homes and its staff. We also understand the importance of sensory stimuli to promote interaction and expressive communication. Our residents regularly “exercise” mentally with music and art. Our staff also makes sure that memory loss patients remain active, which is a major benefit for the resident. We offer activities for everyone of all tastes – from solo activities to social time.
At BeeHive Homes, our goal is provide a sense of belonging and purpose for each resident. Our staff will recognize personal preferences and adapt quickly so all residents feel appreciated and valued. Everyone deserves that.
At BeeHive Homes, we say it’s “the next best thing to home,” and we mean it. We pride ourselves on providing an active, fun and community-based lifestyle for all of our residents. Research shows staying active physically and mentally is so important to the aging process, especially for those residents with memory loss. That’s why we feature multiple activities seven days a week for our residents to enjoy.
At BeeHive Homes, we want all of our residents to feel like they’re a part of a community. That’s why we provide so many opportunities for social time. We also realize some residents would prefer solo activities, as well. Our activity calendars run the gamut to meet all residents’ needs.
Food is another consideration when selecting the right Gulf Breeze assisted living community. At BeeHive Homes, we use local, southern cooks to prepare the meals for our residents. They consist of produce either grown on our farm or sourced locally. Our meals are prepared from scratch, and we avoid pre-packaged or canned foods to the maximum extent possible. All of our home-cooked meals are approved by a dietitian, and snacks are also provided throughout the day. Residents are always welcome to invite family and friends to dine with them at BeeHive Homes.
