Good Neighbor Society, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), encompasses independent living, assisted living, post hospital rehab, memory care, long term care and hospice care all on one campus.
When you become part of the GNS family we do our best to assist you in living your best retirement. More simply, once you live on our campus at level of care, you no longer have to wait on a community waiting list to receive the level of care you need.
In the 1990's, the Board of Directors recognized and again met the needs of those in the Delaware County Community who would benefit from continuing to live independently while having assistance as needed. Thus, The Meadows concept was born. In 1999, after a successful fundraising campaign, construction for The Meadows began and 24 apartments were opened to tenants in March 2000. Due to a steadily increasing demand for assisted living services, 8 additional apartments and a solarium were added in 2001. The canopy entrance to the Meadows was added in 2008, with 6 more apartments - it opened in July of 2009. With the addition of The Meadows, Good Neighbor Home became Good Neighbor Society.
The Meadows is a 37 apartment assisted living complex that enhances community living while promoting independence. At The Meadows we offer Individualized Service Plans that allow you to choose how we can help you live your ideal retirement.
The recreation program at The Meadows is a true reflection of how continuing to stimulate your mind and body can greatly enhance your quality of life. Our recreation program spans a wide variety of interests from daily coffee clubs to cruising the Mississippi River. Each program designed to stimulate your senses.
In our kitchen we create, prepare and serve three fresh and delicious meals each day. Each meal consists of at least two meal options along with dessert. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to come and share in the dining experience with you in our intimately designed dining room.
To effectively serve you we offer three styles of apartments. The apartment layouts include a studio apartment, a one-bedroom apartment and a one-bedroom plus apartment. For your convenience each apartment was built with a kitchenette, a walk-in shower and plenty of storage throughout.
