Residents live in a beautiful family home that is nestled in a wooded area right off of Hunt Club Road in Gurnee, IL. The house has been transformed to meet all of the needs of our residents, and has the amenities of a typical assisted living facility. Visitors and residents feel the welcoming warmth as soon as they enter the drive leading up to our home. This feeling continues throughout everyone's visit and stay with us.
Residents at Assisted Living By Theresa live in furnished, semi-private bedrooms. All residents have access to closets, dressers, nightstands, and telephones. Each bedroom has a television with movie playing capabilities. A bathroom with a shower is directly connected to every bedroom. We strive to create bedrooms that provide all of the comforts of home.
Our home is filled with spacious, open areas where residents are free to mingle with each other and spend as much time as they wish. Unlike other nursing homes, we encourage residents to move around and not be confined to their bedrooms. Our house layout creates open space between all public areas, including the lounges, dining room, and kitchen. The lounges are well stocked with comfortable sofas and reclining chairs, televisions, and books. Both of the lounges have picture windows overlooking the wooded grounds, allowing natural sunlight to stream in all day. There is direct access to a beautiful patio and grounds from the lounge.
Residents gather together for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our spacious, family- style dining room. Neatly set tables and soft music from their past await them, making it comfortable for them to chat in a relaxed way, while enjoying their meals. Meals are prepared on site and served by our staff, with attention given to special dietary needs.
Our home is nestled in the middle of beautifully wooded grounds. Residents awe at the burst of colors in the spring and fall months. Bird feeders attract birds that make the grounds their home all year long. Residents are encouraged to spend time outside, by walking outside or spending time on the patio. An herb and vegetable garden is also maintained by staff, including peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and cabbage. When ripe, these homegrown vegetables are enjoyed and eaten by residents.
