Country Lane Memory Care

Country Lane Memory Care Assisted Living – Long-term assisted care community for residents with early-to-middle stages of Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia. Our priority is to meet the physical and emotional needs of the residents by giving the highest level of care and accommodation, along with the encouragement of daily activities to stimulate the mind and memory.

Located in a beautiful country setting in Riverton, Illinois, our state-of-the-art building will serve 50 residents in private or semi-private rooms. Complete assisted care services are provided, including meals, medication management, nursing care, bathing, and dressing.

Cari Claussen has a deeply rooted passion to create quality care for individuals in the elderly population. This drive to make a difference began when she visited her grandmother in a nursing home when she was just a teenager. Cari would arrive at the nursing home and find her grandma alone, frightened, and sitting for hours on a soiled chair pad because the staff neglected to properly care for her. Her heart broke as she witnessed the deplorable treatment and she decided one day she would be a strong voice for the elder population.

After working with Alzheimer's residents in a memory care assisted living for 3 years as a program director, she realized how much a patient could benefit from living in a place that mirrored a loving and supportive home environment rather than a hospital. Acting as an advocate for seniors and working with mentally ill patients brought Cari’s mission and dream into focus—she needed to open her own assisted living home.

Cari’s dream become a reality in 2015 when her father Bruce Gillman agreed to be her business partner as he too understood the importance of quality care for those with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia. Country Lane Memory Care would not be just another nursing home, but a small community of people supporting residents with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia as if they were family.

The staff at Country Lane specializes in caring for those suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia. They understand the unique circumstances this population faces and works to make them as comfortable as possible.

From the selection of our staff, to the development of our operations, we’ve made it a priority to maintain an environment that is not only safe and caring, but also fun and engaging. Even the layout of our home is designed to keep everyone involved at a level where they feel comfortable.

Residents at Country Lane will have the opportunity to participate in various activities centered on what they have enjoyed doing throughout their lives, including:

• Daily events: Baking, art, trivia, storytelling/share time, card games, bingo, board games, therapy dog interaction, and exercise classes
• Holiday parties
• Entertainment: Music and singing groups, pianists, local volunteer organizations, and general activities to stimulate the conditioning of the mind and memory
• Music therapy with the use of IPods
• Animal friend visits: Pets may come and visit their owners for the day
• Bowling
• Puzzles

HEALTH AND WELLNESS SERVICES:

• 24/7 Licensed Nurses that provide Medication Management to all Residents
• Specialized staff trained in Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia.
• Full 24 hours a day care
• On-site services for men and women
• Private activity room available for families to host parties and celebrations
• On-staff dietary manager to oversee each resident’s nutritional needs and

requirements

• Licensed chef and contracted licensed dietitian to provide residents breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus snacks as required or as needed
• Dedicated daily housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure cleanliness and order throughout the entire building
