and trilogy we understand that there's a difference between staying busy and being engaged every resident should have the opportunity to be engaged regardless of abilities we strive to create activities and programs based on residents preferences to ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy we want life at our campuses to be a time of celebration for our residents there's a difference in being busy and being engaged so what we specifically do is again we look at the prior life interest and then we try to tailor the program around what they can still offer a lot of individuals feel that when they're aging that they no longer have a purpose so we definitely tap into their skills and talents and ask them to participate not only in the program but maybe even meeting the program some of the best ideas come from the direct line staff when they're interacting with the residents and providing good quality care they start just having normal conversations like you would with a neighbor and we learned through the direct care staff you know what the interest of the residents are if we don't uncover it and the initial assessment we're constantly building on that based on exchanges that we have with the residents it is very important that everyone participates no matter what their cognitive or mental statuses and we have people that are highly engaged using their hands and their mind but we do tailor the program to meet residents that are on their life journey and those programs might include massage music music therapy we also do a lot of sensory stimulation and ensure that someone's not just sitting in their room that they're getting connection and touch and interventions according to their needs at that moment while new programs and activities are constantly created a trilogy we've developed many core programs that include lifelong learning opportunities focused on the development of residents talents gifts and interest including writing and computer classes gardening and Clayworks and the fundamentals of bridge helped to deepen a sense of pride and purpose we provide intergenerational programs that partner with schools and colleges for mutual opportunities for learning understanding and fun we have creative arts programs encouraging emotional expression through creativity encompassing all levels of cognitive functioning and much more they do activities all day long they cook they play bingo they like I said they had that happy hour where they just serve hors d'oeuvres and things like that and the families come they have a family breakfast once a month and everybody goes for breakfast and they just treat the family whoever wants to come and every afternoon there's someone or somebody there either doing the we on TV or for exercise or there's someone playing the piano activities don't just happen on campus we encourage participation and fishing trips and contests summer field trips where residents go into the community to enjoy special places and experiences and the live a dream program in which lifelong dreams and wishes can become a reality at Trilogy we're committed to enabling our residents to live engaged and meaningful lives you
