We understand that seniors desire to live their life to the fullest. New Albany Assisted Living was designed with this in mind allowing seniors to live as independently as possible. Our Assisted Living apartments are available in private or semi-private, furnished or decorated based on your personal choice and provides an atmosphere where visitors, friends and family are encouraged to visit. Our private dining area along with activities, outings, and social gatherings ensure seniors stay active and social while remaining safe and secure. New Albany Assisted Living also offers an attached skilled-nursing facility if they time comes where a resident may need more medically complex services.
Our Occupational Therapists will work with our Guests to increase independence with activities of daily living (ADL’s) including bathing, eating, dressing, self-care and home management tasks.
Our Physical Therapists will work with our Guests to regain strength and balance and also improve mobility. Based on the findings of our initial assessment, individualized exercises and education will help the Guest meet their rehab goals as quickly and safely as possible.
The role of the Speech Therapist is to improve functional communication and cognitive skills of all of our Guests. They also monitor and modify swallowing techniques and introduce diet modifications and special feeding techniques when necessary for Guests who have decreased abilities in these areas.
Our Respiratory therapy department is a full-service department with equipment and staff available for any potential admission. If you or your loved one have a diagnosis of COPD, emphysema, pneumonia or any other respiratory/breathing difficulties, we have a skilled and trained respiratory therapy staff who are solely focused and responsible to care for your respiratory and breathing needs.
At New Albany, we realize some residents require specialized services to meet their individual psycho-social needs. For this reason, we created The Harbor at The New Albany, a specialty care unit for patients with dementia and dementia related diseases. The Harbor is designed to improve the quality of life for residents who have unique psycho-social needs beyond those of our traditional geriatric population. Our goal for the unit is to maintain as much independence as possible for each resident in a structured, comfortable, and secure environment. The Harbor is dedicated to improving and maintaining the behavioral health and well being of the seniors in the communities we serve.
