Our facility and floor plan have been custom designed to minimize resident confusion and irritation, which contributes to their safety and comfort. In fact, our designers toured and studied memory care facilities throughout the country to achieve a design with the perfect balance of safety, comfort while maintaining an active lifestyle. Our design incorporates open spaces, natural light and specially selected color schemes to help minimize irritation and anxiety. Even the dining room features and open kitchen so the aroma of the meals creates a home like atmosphere.
Moreover, Hallmark House staff are trained in the prestigious, Best Friends Approach to care. This approach teaches caregivers how to have a “knack” or a way of responding to those with Memory Loss in a manner that preserves their dignity all while helping them to feel safe, secure and valued. This approach has received a number of prominent endorsements including National Institute on Aging founder and Pulitzer Prize winner Robert Butler.
Our personal care facility has experience in helping residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s stage I and stage II care. Every staff member that works for our facility is trained to handle all the needs of our residents. For fall risk patients, we offer the Vigil Dementia System. This system is proven to reduce the risk of falls substantially and allows the patient to be independent while we monitor their behavior.
