As care needs change, our staff works together with residents and their families whenever needed to discuss and address any additional service considerations. We work closely with the resident’s care team which may include personal physicians, rehabilitation services, social workers, therapists, professionals from hospice and home health, emergency medical, and friends and family to ensure a well coordinated plan of care is delivered and that residents preferences are honored.
As memory related diseases, such as Alzheimers, progress, seniors require levels of care that can expand accordingly. Historically, memory care needs were lumped in to a broader pool of general care. But as more is learned about memory issues, and as the population with such concerns grows, senior services, from medical, and day care, to long term housing, have begun providing more customized care that actually works to help maintain or improve independence whenever possible.
LaCour House, proudly offers a residential living environment focused on the unique needs of memory impaired individuals. We are staffed with trained and certified care givers including on-site nurses, who oversee and attend to daily functioning at a personal level. We treat each resident with patience, love and dignity.
At the onset of Alzheimers or dementia, families may opt to keep their loved one home; often, this is possible in the early stages of dementia. As the level of care and assistance a person requires increases, however, this becomes too unrealistic and even dangerous for the senior with memory issues.
We understand transitioning from home or a more independent senior housing setting to a memory care facility can be difficult. But you’re not alone. We meet with you to discuss how you or your loved one will integrate and eventually thrive in our setting.
Our team encourages family and friends to participate in the process, and to visit as often as possible. We have programs in place that give loved ones the opportunity to learn about memory loss, and how to cope with the evolution that inevitably occur in the family dynamic.
At LaCour House, we have developed a special combination of facilities and personal care services designed to assist those who need help with daily living activities. We focus on maximizing each resident’s independence, privacy, dignity and choices. LaCour House is well-suited for individuals who would benefit from personal care services to ensure their health, safety and well-being. As a licensed residence, professionally trained staff members are on-site 24 hours a day to meet scheduled and unexpected care needs.
