when people ask how we're enjoying Applewood I will typically respond this is the best move I ever made my recollection of the first time we visited Applewood and I was struck right away by the lobby and the dining room which looked so very interactive and then their apartment was also very attractive and the size compared to other places that we had seen felt appropriate for us we were so ready and we're so pleased with what we found here even better than what we expected from just visiting that we don't miss our house there have not been moments of oh I wish we were back there at all but we had full lives before we even came and we've maintained them and so there are many things here that we don't have time to fit in but they're there if we want them there are two lecture series a week there's a concert series a week there's two or three film series a week there's exercise programs every day there are groups that play all kinds of card games there's a current events discussion group there's just it's just endless there's all manner of things going on the Applewood grounds and buildings are very attractive and very well maintained and right outside nor hundred feet away is an arboretum full of interesting plants trees birds and then from there on up into the holy oak ridge the food is superb it's one of the best restaurants in Amherst and the service is excellent I love having dinner prepared that's it that's just a joy every single day library offers a variety of books and magazines and newspapers in the opportunity to sit quietly in another location to read the quality of the people who live here former State Department people former United Nations people who have lived in every part of the world people who are alike lots of university and college faculty the table conversations that are always interesting I could go on for quite quite a long time there's a lot of things we like about being here we've lived a lot of places but this is this is superb and the other thing we hear from residents here Applewood is a cruise ship that doesn't go anywhere life is so full and so wonderful that weeks go by and we don't even think about remember no I don't really remember how it was it's good here
