Heywood Wakefield Commons is an affordable rental community offering private apartments in a beautiful home-like setting in historic downtown Gardner, Massachusetts.
Heywood Wakefield Commons is managed by HallKeen Assisted Living Communities, based in Norwood, MA, which specializes with owning and operating affordable Assisted Living communities throughout New England.
A portion of the historic Heywood Wakefield furniture manufacturing facility was converted into a rental community offering assisted living services with 78 private apartments and beautiful common areas. Heywood Wakefield Commons welcomed its first residents on September 12, 2011.

In our rental community, residents enjoy private apartments with a kitchenette and bath, furnished with their own treasured possessions. Our lease program provides services at affordable rates. At Heywood Wakefield Commons we are dedicated to the physical, social and emotional well being of those entrusted to our care. Services offered include:
- Assistance with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing and grooming
- Dedicated staff available 24 hours a day 7 days a week
- Three chef prepared meals served daily
- Medication reminders
- Safety checks
- Housekeeping service
- Weekly flat linen and personal laundry service
Residents may choose a studio or a two-bedroom apartment. Each apartment is equipped with a kitchenette and a private bathroom. The bathroom features a step-in shower and a hand-held showerhead. Each apartment has an Emergency Response System located in both the living area and bathroom. The Emergency Response System is monitored twenty four hours a day by our dedicated staff.
