The original Castle of Love was founded in Largo, Maryland in 1998 to provide residential assisted living services to residents, ages 55 and older. These services include meals, medication administration by Certified and Licensed Medication Technicians, 24-hour supervision and monitoring, housekeeping and laundry services, assistance with bathing and incontinence care, case management services, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s). The Castle Of Love I was licensed by the State of Maryland Department of Health & Mental Hygiene to provide services for up to eight (8) residents, with care needs up to level 3; the highest level of care allowed in a non-medical facility within the State of Maryland. The facility closed it's doors on July 31, 2016 and residents were relocated to the larger Upper Marlboro, Maryland Facility.
The agency expanded its’ operations in 2004, when The Castle Of Love II was opened and licensed in Bowie, Maryland. That facility offers the same services as those offered at the Castle Of Love I, in a one-level (rancher style) facility. The Castle Of Love II is licensed to provide care to seven (7) residents with assessed care needs up to level Three.
The Castle Of Love III was opened in 2006, in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and is licensed to provide services for up to eight elderly residents, with a County application pending to expand this facility to service up to 16 residents, in both private, semi-private or “suite” settings. This very large residential facility can accommodate loved ones who do not wish to be separated from one another, in a bucolic, home like setting. This facility is equipped with an automatic (fire) sprinkler system, fire alarm and security systems, and a stair-lift for easy access between its two living levels. Both the Bowie and Upper Marlboro facilities are equipped with full house (automatic) generators to prevent interruptions in operations during electrical power outages.
Each facility is staffed by Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.'s), and Medication Technicians, and offers Registered Nursing (R.N) reviews/assessment monthly and as needed, quarterly in-house podiatry services, monthly in-house physicians visit, psychiatric and laboratory referrals, pharmacy delivery services. We also “assist“ with “coordinating“ transportation services.
